Spring/Summer 2010 Member News
Our members want to spread the word about events and activities that are produced or sponsored by their professional organizations. We also have several members who have experienced recent success in the world of sports and events. WISE Atlanta continues to be proud of all its members…
Member Krista Massey, with WISE Atlanta sponsor SunTrust Bank, announces that SunTrust is also a sponsor of the Screen on the Green event at Piedmont Park this summer. It began May 27th and runs each Thursday until June 24th. During the events, there is a different movie shown each night at the park. A complete list of the movies can be found at www.peachtreetv.com. This event is free to the public and provides the opportunity for families to come out and enjoy a movie together. At the event SunTrust is promoting its LiveSolid.com website and giving away free boxed popcorn to the first 2,500 attendees each event.
Member Marina A. Bryant, CMP, Team Coordinator for Joints in Motion with the Arthritis Foundation (SE Region/Georgia Chapter), wants all WISE Atlanta Chapter members to consider a question. Is it time to RUN or WALK your marathon? “Join my team,” she says. The 2010-11 JOINTS IN MOTION TRAINING TEAM is now signing members for the Rock n Roll Denver Marathon (Oct 17) and the Reggae Marathon in Negril, Jamaica (Dec 4). Team members raise funds for the ARTHRITIS FOUNDATION and people of all ages affected by arthritis, the No. 1 cause of disability. You can benefit others while you improve your own health & lifestyle. Travel, train, make a difference and cross the finish line!
If you are interested in JOINTS IN MOTION, you are invited to the “Starting Line Reception” on Wednesday, June 9, from 6-8 p.m. at 5 Season’s Brewing Company, 5600 Roswell Road, Sandy Springs, Ga. More information is available at www.arthritis.org/chapters/georgia, or contact Marina at 770-454-8821 or marina.bryant@comcast.net.

“Women who like to watch sports need Jersey Girl! It’s where women and sports meet on OUR terms,” stated Member Angela Davis, co-founder of Jersey Girl, based in Atlanta. Angela and her business partner Marcelle English will celebrate their one-year anniversary on June 11. Jersey Girl launched its interactive website, www.jerseygirlsports.com, in October 2009, providing up-to-date sports news and information. In addition, female fans have been able to blog, chat, participate in online polls and watch Jersey Girl TV—an online sports info-tainment show that includes in-depth stories, interviews and industry analysis from a FEMALE perspective! And in just one year Angela is proud to share that they have accomplished the following:
- Increased the FaceBook following to 1200+ and counting!
- Confirmed a digital media buy with a global automaker
- Planning on several events, including a private golf clinic for women
- Launching the “Jersey Girl Sports Bucket List” this fall
